GCUs serve to compress natural gas at gas compressor stations of gas pipelines and underground gas storage facilities. A GCU consists of a natural gas compressor, compressor drive, suction and discharge assemblies (in case of a gas-turbine drive), automation system, lubrication system, air fuel and lubricating oil ducts, and auxiliary equipment.
The ESD company procures, installs, and commissions the following GCU types:
- Piston gas-engine compressors: – A compressor of this type consists of a two- or four-stroke gas engine (or electric motor) and a directly connected to it horizontal piston compressor. It is applied with low (0,3-2 МPа), medium (2-5 МPа), and high (9.8-12.0 МPа) pressures.
- Centrifugal compressors: One- and two-stage compressors driven by a gas-turbine engine or an electric motor (asynchronous motors of up to 4500 kW and synchronous motors from 4000 to 12 500.0 kW).
